No. You can use it without an account and everything stays on your iPhone. To sync your portfolio across devices, create a free account with your email, Apple or Google.
How does AURUM value my gold?
It multiplies each piece’s weight by its purity to get the fine metal content, and values it at the live spot price in your currency. Catalogue items already include their official weight and purity.
Is that what a dealer will pay me?
Not exactly. AURUM shows the metal value at market price. Dealers usually pay a little less, and scarce coins can be worth more than their metal. Knowing the metal value helps you compare offers.
Where do prices and data come from?
Public sources: Gold API for gold and silver, the European Central Bank for exchange rates and the Federal Reserve (FRED) for macro indicators. The catalogue combines our own verified data with open databases licensed CC BY 4.0.
Do my photos and data leave my phone?
Photos of your pieces stay on your iPhone and are never uploaded. With an account, your portfolio syncs through Google Firebase. You can delete your account and data from the app at any time.
Does AURUM tell me when to buy or sell?
No. AURUM does not provide financial advice. It shows what moves the gold price (interest rates, the dollar, inflation, central banks…) in plain language, so you can make your own decisions.
